How old do I have to be to order or receive a Beer of the Month Club membership?
You must be 21 or older to receive a shipment of Beer. An Adult signature over 21 is required.
Can beer be delivered in my state?
Some states (such as Maine and Utah) do not allow liquor to be shipped. And many Beer of the Month Clubs will not ship to Alaska and Hawaii. Check with the individual club to determine if they ship to your state.
How is the beer packaged? Does it need to be refrigerated? Will the bottles break?
To prevent breakage, most clubs will ship beer in special sturdy styrofoam packaging that encloses each beer individually. If you refrigerate your beer upon receipt, it will last longer. But it will not hurt the beer to stay unrefrigerated for awhile. One it is chilled, however, don't warm and re-chill or it may affect the taste.
Do I need to be at home to receive my package?
Most clubs will ship the beer with an "Adult Signature Required" to ensure the recipient is age 21 years or over. You may want to send your beer to a work address or somewhere you will be available to receive it during daily business hours.
Can I choose the varieties of beer I receive?
No, each Beer Club selects an assortment of beers for you every month. Besides, that's half the fun of joining a Beer of the Month Club - you get to try different types of beer you might not choose for yourself! Most clubs also offer you the opportunity to re-order current beer selections at discounted prices.
What does "microbrewed" mean?
Microbrewed beer is made in small quantities at small breweries and is usually only available from the local brewery where it was made. Almost all are all-natural without additives or preservatives.
Why is it more expensive to purchase beer in a Beer of the Month Club than it would be to buy the beer in my local liquor store?
Many of the beer selections you receive won't be on the shelves of your local liquor store. Beer of the Month Clubs offer unique, hard-to-get selections for beer connoisseurs who love to try different kinds of beer. Shipping alcohol products is more expensive than other products, so a good portion of your monthly membership fee covers shipping charges.
